Josée and I had a few days off this week which is unusual in that they were at the same time. We decided to get out of town because if we stay here, we work. So, it was off to Duncan for three nights at Stonewood B&B where we had a great time in the beautiful home of our hosts, Rob & Susie; find them on Trip Advisor here. The breakfasts were great, the location wonderful and the people even moreso. We’ll definitely visit again, perhaps when attending a show at the Chemainus Theatre.
Our days consisted of a few bike rides (although it was too hot to really enjoy them), a visit to Tea Farm, a real, live tea farm with dozens of great tea blends, a stop at Merridale Cidery and a quick visit to Cow Bay. The Duncan area is actually quite pretty, fairly rural and the non-highway strip of Duncan is quite nice, a throw-back to days gone by. It was a really nice little get-away and a reminder that we often can have a wonderful trip without leaving our fantastic Vancouver Island!
