Anyone who lives in the Comox Valley knows we live paradise! Couple great restaurants and social events, sporting opportunities and nature with safe streets and a high standard of living and you have a perfect place. Well, that’s my opinion anyway. Last night, we took a trip up Mt. Washington with Josée’s Mum & Aunt. We had a leisurely drive to up the mountain followed by a quiet ride on the chairlift to the top of the hill. We were very fortunate in that the evening was clear and calm; we could see for miles across the Strait of Georgia, the Comox Valley spread out beneath us, Denman & Hornby Islands off to the right and Campbell River to the left. We did see across the strait with the Coast Mountains snow-capped and clear in front of us. I think Josée’s Mum and Aunt enjoyed the trip, especially the last bit of the chairlift ride where it’s very steep. Below are a few photos of the trip. We were lucky to have such a magnificent view and it really reminded me that we do have a special place and should not take it for granted.
Enjoy your local scenery and take a trip in your backyard!
