The Revolution is coming…

I work with a business coach and over the last few weeks we’ve had presentations on the use of social media in our businesses.  As I was surfing around some site tonight, I found this really good video on how social media is fast becoming the way we communicate.  It has some really interesting stats which come from the site Socialnomics.net

I’ve got the Twitter and Facebook pages for both home and business and it will be interesting to see how they improve my business over the next few months.  I think there is also a huge opportunity for clubs, charities, churches and other similar groups to use social media to communicate and inform.

Here’s the video:

The Power of Social Media

Most of us have email accounts.  Many of us use social networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace and Twitter.  Some of us run websites and blogs.  It’s for events such as the Ride to Conquer Cancer that these software systems have such huge potential.  We can tap into a vast network of contact and friends.  Remember the old commercials –  “and she tells 2 friends, and they tell 2 friends!”

You can help us reach our fund-raising target of $10,000 by adding to your existing social media sites.  For more information, please visit the BC Cancer Society’s social media centre by clicking here.  A few clicks might result in more bucks for cancer research!  Please remember to direct your friends to our site in order that they can make their donations!  Thanks again for your support!
