Over the frozen tundra…

Here is a short video of my flight from YQQ to YOW and back, taken late March 2014.  I’ll put the photos and videos of the rest of my journey in a separate post.  Enjoy!

West by Westjet

I just returned from a quick visit to Calgary.  I like planes and thought I’d make my return trip into a short video.  You can skip through some of the scenes if they are a little long.  This was WS 257, Calgary to Comox on a Boeing 737.700.  Westjet has some of the new 737 Max aircraft on order but I don’t think they are scheduled for delivery for a bit.  I’m hoping to get a ride on the new 787 Dreamliner later this year as it rolls into the Air Canada fleet.  I really like flying Westjet and have yet to have a bad experience with them!!

The video starts in Calgary, in sunny but frigid (-23C) weather, flies across BC, starts getting a bit cloudy just past Kamloops and then descends in cloudy, foggy weather to arrive in snowy (yes, it occasionally snows here) Comox.  At about 1:50 there is a cool shot of another WS 737 landing.  Enjoy!

An eagle’s eye of the Comox peninsula…

For those of you who like the aerial view, here is a short video of my recent flight from Vancouver Int’l Airport (YVR) to Comox Airport (YQQ).  I attended the annual CIFP conference which was pretty good as far as conferences go.  I flew on a Pacific Coastal flight and I’m fairly certain (if my memory is correct) that the plane was a Beechcraft 1900-C.  It was a short trip but very pleasant!
